Menopause is one of the stages that all women go through. Actually, there are some who look forward to this stage in their life but there are more women who dread it. Change is hard and menopause is a change that signals an end of a chance to give birth to a child. It is frightening but it is also expected. That is why some women lose sleep over it. Insomnia is one of the clear signs of menopause which is why insomnia and menopause are intertwined with each other especially when you are at the stage of your life when you know that it is near.

Do you know that almost half of the women who go through menopause have insomnia? For some it starts just about before menopause starts then it continues during menopause. Women who go through with this say that they wake up in the middle of the night and they can no longer go back to sleep. Thus, you have to watch out for insomnia and menopause especially when you are in the latter part of your life.

Insomnia is a major problem since the cognitive functions will be in disarray. Thus, the following will be experienced: decreased concentration, decreased memory, fatigue, irritability and others. You can actually avoid this symptom by lowering the temperature in the room, drink herbal teas, have a bedtime ritual to help you sleep and decorate your sleeping area with relaxing colors. For sure, by doing these things you will be able to minimize the occurrence of sleepless nights with or without menopause.
